How Cameras Make Your Home Safer
Your home is your sanctuary.
You want to feel safe and comfortable in it, knowing that you don’t have to worry about intruders or thieves. Security cameras make the home safer in a variety of ways, but they’re especially useful for catching criminals in the act and alerting homeowners when something is wrong.
Security cameras are a smart deterrent against burglars and intruders.
Security cameras are a smart deterrent against burglars and intruders. They can make it more difficult for criminals to hide, as well as help identify them if they’re caught in the act.Security cameras can be installed outside your home to monitor activity in front of your property, on the street or sidewalk near your house, or both (depending on where you live). They’re also great for keeping an eye on what’s happening inside when you’re not there–they’ll alert you if someone breaks into your home while no one is around!
They can help catch criminals in the act.
- Cameras can capture images of criminals.
- Cameras can capture audio of criminals.
- They can also record their license plate numbers and faces, which can be helpful in identifying them later on.
- And if your camera has night vision, it might even pick up some details about their clothing–which would be really helpful if they were wearing a mask or something like that!
They can alert you to problems when you’re not there.
If you want to keep an eye on your home when you’re not there, camera systems can send alerts to your phone. This means that if something happens in your house while you’re away- someone breaks in–the system will notify the you automatically for a quick response.
They let you know if someone is trying to break into your home.
The best part is that cameras are always on the lookout for intruders. If someone breaks into your home and it’s caught on camera, they’ll alert you immediately so that you can call the police and catch them in the act. You’ll be able to see what happened, whether anyone was injured and if any of your property was damaged.
They can help with insurance claims.
You may have heard of the “he said, she said” problem. It refers to an incident where the two parties involved disagree on what actually happened, usually because they have different perspectives. This can make it difficult for insurance adjusters and other professionals who evaluate claims for liability to determine whether or not you’re telling the truth about your injuries or damages.Security cameras can help resolve these issues by providing objective proof of what occurred during an incident–so long as they were working properly at the time of your accident or theft. For example: if someone breaks into your house and steals something valuable from inside (like jewelry), security footage could show exactly who did it and when.Additionally, cameras can also help you make a claim after an incident. If your home is damaged by fire or water, your insurance company will want to see what happened before they pay out any money. If you have security cameras and they show the damage clearly, then this will help with the claim process and get things moving faster than if there were no footage of what occurred at all.
Security cameras are an important part of security for your home and business.
Security cameras deter burglars and intruders. Burglars don’t want to be caught in the act, so they may choose a different target if they think their crimes are being recorded on video.Security cameras help catch criminals in the act. If someone breaks into your home while you’re away or at work, having footage of them committing the crime can help police identify who did it and bring them to justice faster than if there were no evidence at all (or only eyewitnesses).Security cameras alert you when something is wrong even when no one else is around–like when smoke detectors go off or lights suddenly turn off unexpectedly. This gives homeowners time to take action before disaster strikes!
If you’re looking for a way to make your home safer, security cameras are a great option.
They can help catch criminals in the act and alert you when there’s a problem at night or while you’re not there. They also let insurance companies know what really happened during an incident and they can help identify an intruder. Contact EMC Security for your cameras today! 770-963-0305. Get a Camera Quote >
Why You Should Set Up Your Alarm System When You Set Up Your Utilities In Your New Home
When you move into a new home, there are so many things to think about – the first night in your new place, unpacking and getting everything set up.
And then there’s that one task that can go unnoticed: setting up your home security system. But this is one of the best ways to protect yourself from burglaries!
When moving into a new home, sometimes the last thing we think about is setting up our security system. We may not have the time or energy to do it right away, or maybe we don’t know what kind of security system would work best for us and our needs. Maybe you’ve never set up an alarm before and aren’t sure how to go about getting started with it all–and even if you were able to figure everything out on your own (which isn’t always easy), there’s still no guarantee that doing everything yourself will save money in the long run.
EMC Security makes it easy – especially as you move into your new home. Or in-home evaluators will customize a system that fits your home structure and lifestyle needs. No guessing or hassle.
Many people don’t realize that the cost of monitoring can be significantly reduced with EMC Security. Particularly if there is a system already in the home. EMC Security is one of very few providers that can use the components of that system – and make updates as need, like a new keypad, cameras, etc. This could save a lot of money that you’d spend purchasing an entire new system from another provider.
Sometimes, just a few small steps right away can make all the difference in making your new house, a home.
Set up the alarm system right away – when you set up your utilities: You may not think it’s necessary, but having an alarm system set up when you move into your new home can help deter theft and other unwanted visitors. Also, if someone breaks into your house while you’re not there or if there is ever an emergency situation (weather, flood, etc), having an alarm system will notify authorities so they can respond quickly with assistance.
Below are 8 reasons why you should set up your alarm system right away
Enjoy peace of mind right away. You can relax and enjoy your new home, knowing that you’re protected from unwanted intruders. You can rest assured that your family is safe, and that they will be alerted if there is any suspicious activity at home or on the property.
Protect your new investment. Your alarm system is a great way to protect your investment. It can:
- Protect your home from break-ins, fires and floods.
- Alert police if there is a burglary or robbery in progress, which gives them time to respond and catch the perpetrators before they get away (or at least minimizes the damage).
- Warn you if there’s smoke or carbon monoxide in the house so that you can get out safely before things get worse. EMC Security monitors for fire at no additional monthly cost (equipment required).
- Let people know when they shouldn’t be entering without permission.
Take advantage of bundling service on your EMC power bill. If you are an EMC member, you may be able to bundle costs on your electric bill.
Get familiar with the equipment and the monitoring station. You’ll want to learn how to use your alarm system in case of an emergency, so make sure you have a good understanding of how everything works. It’s also important to know what options are available with your system and how they work together, so take some time out of your day and get familiarized with it all.
Customize your system based on your budget and needs. You can customize your security system based on your budget and needs. If you need to get the basics when you’re moving in, you can always add to it down the road.
Get help when decorating or re-modeling your new home. When you’re decorating or re-modeling your new home, get help with the layout of your security system, such as the placement of your cameras, sensors, motion detectors, and keypads.
Ask about additional features that can keep you safe and comfortable in your new home.
- Do I need a carbon monoxide detector?
- What kind of fire extinguisher should I get?
- Can I use the system already in the house?
- Should I get smart-locks or lighting?
- What about a water monitor?
- Where should security cameras and a video doorbell be installed?
Integrate it with smart technology to make your home even more convenient and secure. You can integrate your home security system with smart technology, so you can control it from your phone. That way, you can turn on the lights or unlock the door from anywhere in the world.
Smart home technology is increasingly being implemented in new homes–and for good reason! It makes life easier and more convenient, but it also adds another layer of security by allowing users to monitor their homes remotely through an app on their phone.

Benefits of a Monitored Security System
Here’s a list:
If you’re looking for a way to keep your home safer, then a monitored security system is a great choice. These systems can help deter burglars and protect your property from theft or damage. They’ll also give you peace of mind by letting you know if there’s any danger in your house or yard while you’re away. A monitored system also gives you remote access to your home so that even if there’s an emergency while you’re out, help is only a phone call away!
A monitored home security system is always on, even when you and your family aren’t. The system can’t be turned off or disabled. No matter where you are, you’ll get a notification if there’s an emergency at the house.
A monitored security system is more than just a tool for keeping your home safe. It’s also a way for you to keep tabs on what’s happening in and around your house, even when you’re not there.
With integrated cameras, you’ll be able to see who is coming and going from the house, so if someone tries to break in, they won’t get very far before being caught on camera. And if they do manage an entry, the alarm system will sound.
Without a monitored security alarm what do you do if something goes wrong while you’re away?
How will you know?
Knowing that everything stays safe in your house, monitored by a professional company like EMC Security while away from home gives tremendous peace of mind; there’s nothing like knowing exactly what’s happening at all times.
A monitored system is more likely to deter burglars.
A monitored security system is more likely to deter burglars. Burglars want to avoid detection, so they’re less likely to target a home that has an alarm and will alert the police. If you add cameras, the change that the intruder will pass the house goes up.
A good home security system includes protection for fire which will give you early warning of dangerous situations like fire or carbon monoxide leaks. EMC Security monitors for fire at no additional monthly cost.
These systems are very beneficial because they can save lives in many different ways. The fire department needs at least 15 minutes to respond when someone calls them in but with a detector installed in your house it will tell you whenever there is smoke or fire so that way the authorities know exactly where the problem is located allowing them to arrive on the scene much faster than without one.
In addition to monitoring your home or business 24/7, the mobile app can help you stay safe if something goes wrong in your home or place of business. Remote access and control makes it easier to stay in touch with your home no matter where you are.
If you’re away from home and want to see what’s happening, simply use the app to check in on your security system. Before you get too worried about what might be going on back at home, rest assured that EMC Security’s professional monitoring team will contact local authorities if any kind of danger is detected.
If you’re the type of person who likes to be in control of everything, a monitored security system is a good choice for you. Monitored systems are always on, even when you’re not home. They give you peace of mind from anywhere in the world and can alert you if there’s something wrong.
So how much does a basic monitored security system cost? After the cost of the system, EMC Security monitoring starts at just $16.95. The real question here is whether it’s worth paying more for peace of mind—and we think it is.
How to Prevent Your Car From Getting Broken Into
If you’ve ever left your car unlocked, you know how easy it is for thieves to break in.
They can open your door, reach into the glove box, and take all sorts of valuables. Thankfully, there are some simple steps that will help keep your car safe from thieves who want to break in–and they won’t cost much at all!
Don’t leave you car unlocked!
Don’t leave valuables lying around in your car.
Don’t leave valuables in your glove box or center console, which are easily accessible to a thief and are often placed on the passenger seat so they can be easily seen by passersby.
Don’t keep valuables in the trunk of your vehicle, where they’re more difficult for others to see but still vulnerable to break-ins and theft.
Don’t leave your car running unattended.
Most people don’t think much about leaving their car running. But if you do, it’s an open invitation to thieves. The most common way of stealing a car is by waiting until the driver leaves their keys in the ignition and then turning on the ignition and driving off with it.
When you leave your car running, it can get stolen or broken into by someone who wants to vandalize it (think: slashing tires). This can also happen when you’re at home; if thieves see that there are valuables in your vehicle, they may break into it looking for them.
Try not to park in dark or secluded areas, and always park as close to your destination as possible.
Instead, try to park near other cars and in well-lit areas. You should also try to park as close as possible to your destination so that you can see if anyone is trying to break into your car when you leave it.
Remove any accessories that could make your car look nice for thieves.
It’s always a good idea to remove any accessories or add-ons that make your car look nice for thieves. These include things like wheels, mirrors, bumpers and even interior decorations. If you’re worried about the aesthetic of your car, consider removing these items when you park at home or work where there is regular surveillance.
Similarly, don’t leave valuables lying around in your vehicle—this includes phones, laptops and other electronics as well as money or credit cards. Even if it’s just for a few minutes while running into a store for one thing or another, don’t take anything with you that might tempt someone passing by who knows what they’re doing (and those people are everywhere nowadays).
Keep your dome light off at night.
There’s a lot of reasons why you should keep your dome light off at night, but the most important one is that it makes your car an easy target for would-be thieves. Thieves have an easier time spotting your car in a dark parking lot if they can see inside it, and if they see that you’re still out of the vehicle and trying to get organized (or even just distracted by something else), they’ll have an even easier time breaking into it. The dome light can also be used as a distraction tactic—if someone sees you walking towards the car and wants to break in while you’re out, he or she might turn on the dome light as a way to distract you while he/she sneaks over to break in through one of those windows right next to where your keys are hanging up inside!
Engrave your VIN number on some important parts of your car.
You can engrave the VIN number, or vehicle identification number, on your car’s driver’s side door jamb. This is part of the information that is needed by police if a car is stolen. The VIN is also useful for people who want to find out more about how many miles are on their car or how old it really is. If you want to do this yourself, make sure that you know where the VIN number is located before getting started. It will be found either in the glove compartment or under the hood of your car.
You may also consider putting some kind of sticker with contact information inside your windshield so that if someone breaks into your vehicle and steals something important like an iPhone or laptop computer, then there will be some way for them to get back in touch with whoever owns those things without having access to any personal information like credit card numbers!
Be smart about how and where you park.
- Park in well-lit areas.
- Park near a security camera.
- Park in a garage, if possible.
- If you park near an emergency service building, they may have security cameras and/or alarms that will scare off potential criminals.
It’s important to remember that you can’t prevent every theft, but if you’re smart about it and follow our advice, your chances of getting broken into will definitely go down.
Why you Should Buy Cameras from EMC Security Instead of a Retail Store
When it comes to choosing the right camera for your home or business, there are many things to consider: the type of cameras needed for your home and property; where and how to install them for optimal protection; how to incorporate the camera features into your every day life; how to get help when you need it; and more.
If you are tempted to purchase cameras from a store rather than an experienced security company like EMC Security, the process can be difficult and costly.
Below are five reasons why you should buy your cameras from EMC Security:
1. EMC Security has the knowledge and expertise to recommend the right camera system for your needs. When you’re buying a security camera for your home or business, you should think about how you’ll use the camera and what features are most important in making sure that your home or business is safe from intruders. EMC Security is able to help guide you through this process with expertise and help you find the right solution for your needs.
2. Professional camera installation is worth it. Using professional installation ensures that your cameras are placed in the right locations, and that they’ll be able to capture the video footage you need.
3. One of the most important things to consider when purchasing cameras is who will be installing them. While you may think that it’s no big deal and that you can handle the job, if something goes wrong during the camera installation, you might break something or install the cameras incorrectly which could cause your cameras not to work properly (or at all).
4. For those that are handy and can tackle the job with ease, EMC Security offers cameras at a reduced cost for self-installation.
5. Integrating cameras with your security system enhances your protection. Your security system and cameras work together to provide peace of mind. If something happens at your home or business and you need to check on it, all you have to do is launch the app on your phone and look at what’s happening in real-time. This feature also allows users to store video and receive notifications and clips when motion is detected.
EMC Security has local service and support. When you buy a security system, you want to know that if something goes wrong with it, someone is going to be there for you. The same applies to cameras. That’s where local service and support comes in. When you choose a company that offers local service and support like EMC Security, you get a quick response when something goes wrong with your cameras or a quick answer to any questions about how best to use it.

What to do if a Package is Stolen From Your House
The package itself may not be worth much, but it’s the principle of the thing.
Plus, you’ve got to go through the hassle of calling UPS or USPS and filing a claim just so you can get another one sent out (or in this case). But it doesn’t have to be this way! With some planning ahead and detective work on your part, there’s a good chance that your stolen goods will make their way back into your hands–with or without any help from law enforcement officers.
So here’s what we recommend doing if your packages keep getting swiped by thieves:
- Determine how the theft happened. If you’re worried that someone got in through a window or door, consider closing off your house (or just that part of it) until the package is recovered. If you think someone broke into your garage and took it out there, make sure all of the doors are locked appropriately before moving forward with any investigation.
- Check for signs of forced entry. If you don’t see anything broken, but it looks like someone could have been in your house, that’s a good sign that your home was targeted for its packages.
Consider installing a security system that will sound an alarm and notify you immediately if an entry is breached.
- Look for missing packages on the ground or in a neighbor’s trash can (if you’re lucky). In some cases, thieves will drop off stolen packages at nearby homes and keep moving until they find someone who can take care of it—but they won’t risk being caught on camera doing so. You may want to ask neighbors if they’ve seen any strange activity lately as well!
- Contact your local police department and file a report with them so they can keep an eye out for any suspects who match the description of who stole from you!
- If you have a tracking number, use it to follow the package. If you don’t have a receipt, call the store and ask if they can look up the purchase. If your package was stolen from your house and doesn’t have an identifiable owner (like an Amazon delivery), call the police as soon as possible so that they’re aware of what happened.
- If you have a video surveillance system and it captured the theft, you may be able to use the footage to identify the thief. If so, contact police and file a report immediately. Consider investing in outdoor security cameras and/or a doorbell camera to prevent a repeat. EMC Security has affordable options.
- If you don’t have a video surveillance system or weren’t able to capture any images of the theft on camera, consider getting one so that this doesn’t happen again in the future!
- You should alert your neighbors that your package was stolen and ask them to keep an eye out for it. If you don’t know your neighbors, see if there’s a way for them to contact the local police department or sheriff’s office so they can be on the lookout as well.
- If you have already called the police, it’s important to know that they will not be able to help you find the package or prevent future thefts. The best thing you can do is report the theft and provide them with as much information as possible. Tell them what was stolen from your home: If someone took one of your packages while it was on its way to you, this counts as a theft.
- Try to recover the package or its contents! You may want to ask yourself: “What would happen if this were an expensive item?” The answer is probably “a lot of crying.” So now’s the time for action: call everyone in town who might possibly have information on where your stuff went—neighbors who might’ve seen something suspicious during delivery; people who live nearby who could’ve noticed a car parked outside after work hours; etc.
We hope these tips will help you recover your stolen package or at least figure out who stole it. You may not be able to stop them from taking your package, but you can take action against them and make sure they don’t get away with their crime.
