  • This is what ChatGPT says about EMC Security

This is what ChatGPT says about EMC Security

Out of curiosity, we asked ChatGPT to tell us about EMC Security. It took less than a minute.

    (corrections are noted…)

“EMC Security is a well-regarded home security provider, serving customers primarily in Georgia. The company offers a variety of security solutions, including alarm monitoring, security cameras, home automation, and fire protection systems.

Here’s a comprehensive report on their strengths and weaknesses, customer service, pricing, and customer feedback:

    Strengths:
    1. No Long-term Contracts: One of the main strengths of EMC Security is that they do not require customers to sign long-term contracts for monitoring services. This offers flexibility and allows customers to switch providers or cancel services without facing costly penalties.
    2. Customizable Solutions: EMC Security provides a wide range of security products and services, allowing customers to create a tailored home security system that meets their unique requirements.
    3. Local Service: As a local company, EMC Security has a strong understanding of the specific security needs of the communities they serve. This can result in a more personalized approach to home security and better response times in case of emergencies.
    4. Professional Installation: EMC Security offers professional installation services, ensuring that customers’ systems are set up correctly and that they understand how to use them properly. (We also offer DIY self-install security systems)
    Weaknesses:
    1. Limited Service Area: EMC Security primarily serves customers in Georgia. This means that their services may not be available to customers outside of this region. (Local service = better service)
    2. Upfront Equipment Costs: Some customers may find the upfront equipment costs to be higher than those of other providers that offer free equipment as part of their packages. (We are one of very few companies in the area that allow the customer to activate the current system in the home – saving money. Customers can upgrade keypads, add cameras and smart-devices, the app – whatever they want to make their system as good as new – for less than purchasing an entire new system.)
    Customer Service:

EMC Security is known for providing exceptional customer service, with a support team available 24/7 to assist customers with any issues or questions. Customers generally report positive experiences with their support team, praising them for their responsiveness and knowledge.

    Pricing:

EMC Security offers competitive pricing for their security products and services. While they may have upfront equipment costs, their monthly monitoring fees are generally lower than those of major competitors, starting as low as $16.95 per month.

    Customer Feedback:

Overall, EMC Security receives positive customer feedback for their products, services, and customer support. Customers appreciate the quality and reliability of their security systems, as well as the responsiveness and knowledge of their support team. They also value the company’s no long-term contract policy, which offers more flexibility and control over their security expenses.

In conclusion, EMC Security is a reputable home security provider with strengths in customizable solutions, no long-term contracts, local service, and exceptional customer service. Their main weakness is their limited service area, primarily serving customers in Georgia. If you live in their service area, EMC Security could be a great choice for your home security needs.”

  • A Family’s Brush with Danger and Their Unwavering Trust in EMC Security

A Family’s Brush with Danger and Their Unwavering Trust in EMC Security

EMC Security customers, Francis Ajufo and his family experienced an extremely traumatic event at their Lawrenceville home in March. Francis and his wife were downstairs at the kitchen table talking when they heard what they thought were gunshots. Panic rose in their chests as they heard their son’s frantic cries for his mother just moments later.

Rushing upstairs, they discovered their son on the floor, unharmed but visibly shaken. It was immediately apparent that the chilling sounds they had heard earlier were indeed gunshots, as bullets had pierced through the wall, narrowly missing their son. Desperate to call for help, they found that they couldn’t reach the police.

Thinking quickly, Francis activated their security system, triggering an alarm. EMC Security responded immediately, and he requested dispatch. While waiting for the authorities, 911 eventually returned his call, only to learn that EMC Security had already dispatched help. Upon arrival, the police discovered the source of the gunfire: a heated argument between neighbors had escalated, resulting in one of them firing several rounds that passed through the Ajufo’s home.

The following day, the Ajufo family received a follow-up call from Joe at EMC Security. This gesture touched the family deeply and solidified their gratitude for the exceptional care and attention they received both during and after their ordeal.

Having been monitored by EMC Security since 2015, the Ajufo family is now preparing to move to a new home in Loganville.

“Our new home has an ADT system installed. We aren’t considering using ADT and although the system has to be replaced entirely because ADT locked out the panel and sensors, we will be purchasing an entirely new system from EMC Security.”

The Ajufo family’s experience, while undoubtedly terrifying, is a testament to the importance of reliable and responsive security systems. With EMC Security by their side, they can move forward with confidence, knowing their safety is in the hands of a company that genuinely cares for their well-being.

  • Why you Should Buy Cameras from EMC Security Instead of a Retail Store

Why you Should Buy Cameras from EMC Security Instead of a Retail Store

When it comes to choosing the right camera for your home or business, there are many things to consider: the type of cameras needed for your home and property; where and how to install them for optimal protection; how to incorporate the camera features into your every day life; how to get help when you need it; and more.

If you are tempted to purchase cameras from a store rather than an experienced security company like EMC Security, the process can be difficult and costly.

Below are five reasons why you should buy your cameras from EMC Security:

    1. EMC Security has the knowledge and expertise to recommend the right camera system for your needs. When you’re buying a security camera for your home or business, you should think about how you’ll use the camera and what features are most important in making sure that your home or business is safe from intruders. EMC Security is able to help guide you through this process with expertise and help you find the right solution for your needs.

    2. Professional camera installation is worth it. Using professional installation ensures that your cameras are placed in the right locations, and that they’ll be able to capture the video footage you need.

    3. One of the most important things to consider when purchasing cameras is who will be installing them. While you may think that it’s no big deal and that you can handle the job, if something goes wrong during the camera installation, you might break something or install the cameras incorrectly which could cause your cameras not to work properly (or at all).

    4. For those that are handy and can tackle the job with ease, EMC Security offers cameras at a reduced cost for self-installation.

    5. Integrating cameras with your security system enhances your protection. Your security system and cameras work together to provide peace of mind. If something happens at your home or business and you need to check on it, all you have to do is launch the app on your phone and look at what’s happening in real-time. This feature also allows users to store video and receive notifications and clips when motion is detected.

EMC Security has local service and support. When you buy a security system, you want to know that if something goes wrong with it, someone is going to be there for you. The same applies to cameras. That’s where local service and support comes in. When you choose a company that offers local service and support like EMC Security, you get a quick response when something goes wrong with your cameras or a quick answer to any questions about how best to use it.

  • Six Causes of Alarm System Trouble

Six Causes of Alarm System Trouble

If your home or business is protected by an alarm system, you want it to be working properly at all times.

Unfortunately, even the most well-designed systems can malfunction and cause issues. If this happens to you, don’t worry! There are steps you can take to identify what went wrong and fix any problems before they escalate into bigger issues.

In this post we’ll look at some of the most common reasons why an alarm system may fail to operate as intended and how to fix them so that you’re always safe from intruders!

    Low Battery in Main Panel

You may see problems if the battery in your main panel are low. As with most electronics, if you leave the batteries in for too long without replacing them, they will stop working and cause issues when you try to use them.

You can check the condition of your system’s battery by checking the status light on your main panel. If this light is out or flashing red and blue, this indicates that there are problems with either power supply or communication between panels. Checking these things can help you determine whether they’re causing an issue with your security system. If so, it’s important to replace any old batteries quickly so that no more serious damage is done to either part of your security system!

EMC Security will receive a low battery signal from your system and will attempt to notify you through email, phone or text. Our service technicians will assist you over the phone or in person to replace the battery.

    Power Loss

When you have a power loss, it can be caused by a number of different things. Your system might lose power because of:

    1. A power outage
    2. A dead battery in your main panel. If this happens, you’ll need to replace the battery and reset your alarm system.

    Learn more >>

    Communication Trouble

If you have a telephone line connection to your alarm system, then trouble with that phone line can cause problems. There are a number of reasons why this might happen:

    1. A power surge or lightning strike on the telephone network could result in an alarm sounding when there is no actual break-in or intrusion.
    2. The phone company might be experiencing an outage, which could cause your alarm to sound even though there is nothing wrong with it.
    3. If someone cuts the line between your house and their house, or if they intentionally interrupt it by installing some kind of device, then they may be able to disable your alarms as well as any other devices connected via that line (such as phones).

Similar to telephone communication, a Wi-Fi signal can be interrupted during weather, lightning, and tampering.

The most reliable form of communication is via cellular connection. It is very rare for weather to affect cell towers and tampering is most impossible.

All EMC Security systems are tested for signals every 30 days. If your system fails to communicate with the EMC Security monitoring center, the system will most likely start beeping. When this happens, contact us immediately to trouble-shoot.

    Low Batteries in Wireless Devices

If your wireless devices are experiencing a low battery, this could cause the alarm system to fail to communicate with the central station and/or fail to communicate with any of the other devices in your home. In addition, if you have wireless keypads installed on doors or windows and their batteries are low, then your system may not be able to detect whether or not those areas are secure.

Many systems send a signal to the keypad to alert customers of low batteries. EMC Security’s low priority monitoring center will also send an email, text and in some cases, call to notify the customer.

  • Too Many False Alarms? We Can Help

Too Many False Alarms? We Can Help

There are many reasons why security system users have false alarms. For instance, a large proportion can be blamed on homeowners forgetting to disarm the system prior to letting the dog out or empty the trash. Another aspect could be entering the wrong passcode.

Some municipalities in Georgia have cracked down on false alarms, with fees. EMC Security has implemented EMC Text-Alert, a text notification service that gives you the opportunity to chat with your emergency contacts when your alarm is triggered and respond appropriately from your phone. We’ve seen a significant reduction in false alarms when customer use Text-Alert. IT’S FREE! Sign up here >>

More ways to reduce false alarms:

    Before you activate your system:

    • Lock all protected doors and windows.
    • Educate family members on alarm system and usage.
    • Contact EMC Security if you have any concerns about the proper functionality your system.
    • Notify EMC Security if you plan any renovating or remodeling your home.
    • Educate family members on what to do if your alarm is accidentally triggered.
    • Use the EMC Text Alert app to chat with your emergency contacts when your alarm is triggered and respond appropriately from your phone.
    • First, don’t panic, there is time. Enter your disarm code (carefully) to reset your system. Remember, if there were a burglar, he or she would not know your code. Do not write it on your keypad.
    • Call EMC Security at 1-888-745-4733 or wait for us to call you. Give your password — this is different from your disarm code.

    Commercial False Alarm Prevention Guide

    • Be sure all employees are thoroughly trained before attempting to use the alarm system. Hold monthly training sessions.
    • Look for items that can move within the “view” of your motion detectors, causing false alarms fans, heaters, hanging signs, seasonal decorations, balloons, curtains, plants, etc.).
    • Confirm that special consideration has been given to the installation of motion detectors in high traffic areas with overhead doors, large exhaust fans or ceiling vents which allow the entry of birds.
    • Ensure all doors and windows are secure and locked before arming your system.
    • Don’t change pass-codes without advising EMC Security.
    • Train new users thoroughly, notifying EMC Security of new users.
    • Service and maintain your system (including batteries) regularly before false alarms occur.
    • Upgrade old alarm systems to current equipment conforming to Security Industry Association (SIA) false alarm prevention standards, further reducing false alarms.

Every municipality in Georgia has alarm registration requirements. Some have false alarm ordinances as well. Make sure you understand your ordinance and fee guidelines before installing a security system in your home or business.

  • Home Security App Protection

    Home Security App Protection

One of the most convenient features of modern security systems is the mobile app. Since the app has the ability to arm and disarm your system, view camera video, and control other home functions, it’s important to keep it secure with protection from hackers.

Below are ways to protect your privacy while using a home security app:
    • Connect to a trusted Wi-Fi network to keep your home security system information and events private from the public. If you’re not connected to a secure network, there’s a high risk of a stranger using public Wi-Fi to get your private home security information.
    • Most security apps allow you to share access with other family members. Consider limiting app access only to those who need it.
    • Change your password frequently. If your app allows, use two-factor authentication to log-in two ways to access your account. The extra layer of security helps prevent hackers from accessing your account with only a password and email.
    • Keep your mobile app up to date. Anytime your app has an update available make sure to download the latest as soon as possible. App updates often include bug fixes, security and privacy improvements.

  • Home Security Rates Increasing?

    Home Security Rates Increasing?

The reality of the world-wide microchip shortage, global labor shortage and other supply chain disruptions has manufacturers – from consumer electronics and appliances to automobiles and industrial capabilities – in a bind trying to fulfill demand. Simple economics proves that when demand is high and supply is low, prices go up. It’s happening in every aspect of our lives.

Security technology manufacturers have announced hefty prices increases this year. Home security companies all over the U.S. are facing price increases and are passing the cost to consumers.

EMC Security has a plan to protect our low prices.

    • Internally, our team is negotiating exemption and/or lower percentage increases with our manufacturing partners.
    • Our famous “no contract” option provides more value to consumers than ever before. We give our customers control to decide if they want to do business with us. Because customers can cancel any time, we work hard to ensure our level of customer service is at its highest for each and every interaction.

    no contract

    • EMC Security protects our customers and gives back to the community we serve.
    1. As a local company, we hire local people to service local families and businesses – we are part of this community and we do all we can to buy local and support the community.
    2. Every employee passes background checks, drug screens, and driving records.
    3. We notify customers if we don’t receive a test signal in more than 30 days. Customer security systems are tested for signals to confirm the system is properly functioning. Other companies don’t provide regular testing like this.
    4. We employee a team of 7 in-house technical support representatives. Trained security technicians are available at no cost to our customers to provide telephone technical support. This could save our customers time and money associated with a site visit to trouble-shoot or repair their system.
    5. Free EMC Text-Alert is a service no other company offers at no cost. This service allows customers to make a decision quickly with those on their contact list whether to dispatch or cancel an alarm – speeding up the process.
