Residential Security System Installation and Service Technician

JobDescription:

Local Security Company owned by Jackson EMC, Walton EMC and Greystone Power, three of the nation’s largest electric utility EMC companies, is seeking qualified and experienced installation and service technicians to serve the customers of EMC Security.

Requirements(Skills):

  • 3 years field experience installing and servicing security, fire andother related systems for residential application
  • Experience with major brands of GE Security, Ademco and DSC
  • Experience installing both hard-wired and wireless systems.Must be familiar with construction principles and how to effectively install hard-wired systems in both new and existing homes.
  • Must be able to demonstrate efficient use of tools of retrofit installation such fish tape, glow-rods, levels,sheetrock saws, etc.
  • Must have experience trouble-shooting existing systems isolating and repairing systems.
  • Must be able to use effectively voltage/ohm meters to install andtrouble-shoot
  • Must be able to work in confined areas such as crawlspaces and attics
  • Must be able to be on-call several times a year to handle after hours and service calls. Flat on- call base pay plus any hourly paid for time spent on call responding to customers

Commercial Installation/Service Technician

Department: Commercial

Reports To: Field Supervisor/Project Manager

Summary of Position:

The Installation and/ or Service Technician will perform installations of electronic control systems which may include door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low voltage communication and fire alarm systems including cable management, network switches, point sensors, signaling devices and associated hardware. As a Commercial technician, this person is expected to be a highly skilled leader on the install team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise other than an “at will” employment relationship.

  • Provide installations for commercial businesses
  • Provide service for commercial businesses
  • Provide senior support to other technicians as it relates to installations/service and best practices for installations
  • Support the Operations/Project Managers with occasional installation inspections. Creating detailed documentation to reflect any inadequacies performed by the technician and provides report to the department head immediately.
  • Assist with designing systems for prospective commercial customers.
  • Completes all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract and company policy
  • Troubleshoots new system installations to ensure that they are functioning properly and that they meet local, county, state, and/or federal codes and any licensing and/or insurance requirements
  • Training of all systems installed. Either at employee and or executive levels
  • Research new technology and best practices to better serve the company and customer
  • Support customers and technicians through-out the day through telephone technical support when needed
  • Support EMC Security with the latest technology
  • Assist in the development of field personnel
  • Interface with customers and executives of companies during and after installation
  • Complete all paperwork prior to leaving job site. Interfacing with customer before leaving job site
  • Work in conjunction with the policies and procedures set forth by the company.
  • Adhere to any updates or changes to current policies and procedure

Minimum Requirements (skills):

  • Minimum of 3 year experience working with access control, fire and burglary system and CCTV
  • Proficient with running/bending conduit
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Fluent with computers and all system program software
  • Fluent with operating lap top computers
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to the customer and other outside contacts.

Central Station Operator

Department: Central Station

Job Title: Operator – Suwanee, Georgia Central Station Location.  Multiple shift positions are available

Reports to: Central Station Supervisor / Central Station Manager(s)

Type of Position:

Full-Time OR Part-Time (<40 Hrs/Wk); Hourly

General Description:

This position is responsible for providing excellent support in the Central Station by accurately and efficiently responding to alarms, answering the multi-line telephone system, and performing data entry. Our job duty is identical to those of a 911 emergency dispatcher.  We must be attentive and perform procedures with a quick and accurate response as our industry is life safety.

Detailed Description:

  • Responds to all incoming alarm signals in our automation software according to documented procedures. When deemed appropriate, calls the premise, notifies the authorities, and calls a list of contacts. Logs all information into the automation system immediately.
  • Answers the multi-line telephone system, notifies callers that all calls are recorded, and ensures that they are connected with the appropriate party.
  • Performs data entry to include the creation of sites, systems, and zones. Updates records when requested according to procedures.
  • Reports any deviation from policy to Central Station Supervisor or Shift Lead immediately.
  • Ensures confidentiality of customer information at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy
  • Good interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude of teamwork and continuous improvement
  • Availability for various shift or weekend work may be required

  • Operates heavy volume emergency alarm calls for the police, fire, and emergency paramedic departments and obtains pertinent information.
  • Enters information into a computer program and relays the call information to the appropriate dispatching agency.
  • Compiles and prepares information for various reports.
  • Some positions may perform other general clerical duties.
