The EMC Security local monitoring center received an alarm from the home of a customer in Suwanee, Georgia. The upper hall smoke detector and attic heat detector had been activated while the customer was not home. After attempts to make contact with someone at the home, the monitoring center immediately dispatched the fire department directly to the home. The monitoring center made contact with the customer who was already on her way to the home and had nearly arrived at the home. She was able to get to the home just before the fire department and began extinguishing t the fire. The customer had set groceries on the stove and they had caught on fire while the customer had left to visit a neighbor. The fire department arrived right after the csutomer and aided the customer in putting out the remainder of the fire and assisting with ventilation and clean up.
Shortly after the fire, the customer and her husband contacted management of EMC Security to express their gratitude to the monitoring center for saving their home. They also said that judging by the location of the fire, there is no question that if the monitoring center had not called and notified them of the smoke detector alarm being activated, they would have indeed lost their home. They emphatically thanked EMC Security for saving their home. This is a fortunate true story where only casualties of this fire were the microwave and some water damage to the home.

December 27, 2011- Suwanee, GA- EMC Security began a holiday tradition this year of collecting toys for the U.S. Marine’s Toys for Tots program of North Atlanta. Despite this year’s economic challenges, customers and employees of the locally owned security company collected over 200 unwrapped toys to donate to needy families this holiday season.
Some customers who made donations have said they found it easier to drop off at the EMC Security corporate office in Suwanee, Georgia than at busy local restaurants and retail stores. “We are so proud of the generosity of our customers and employees through these ongoing difficult economic times,” says Vince Raia, President of EMC Security. “The donations started off strong and continued throughout the entire collection dates. We want to give a special thanks to all our customers, especially those who drove from outside their normal areas to donate big bags of toys to these special children. We are so happy with the amount of donations made.” EMC Security customers came from all over the Metro Atlanta counties including Gwinnett, North Fulton, Dekalb, Forsyth, Barrow, and also Cobb County to donate these toys. “I would like to take the time to acknowledge Ted Furth. Mr. Furth visited my home this past weekend to complete an install. He was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable of his work. My existing equipment was previously monitored by another company and he knew everything needed to complete his job and work around the obstacles. Mr. Furth not only removed his shoes upon entering my home (the pile of shoes at the front door alerted him that this is what my family does), but he offered to help me re-hang a back-up smoke alarm that was out of batteries and sitting off to the side. He even returned to my home a second time to make sure things were adequately working because my cable provider had not installed my telephone system properly.
“Unfortunately, I do not experience great customer service as much as I should these days; in fact, both times the cable company came out to my home, their representatives were rude, unfriendly and unknowledgeable about their work (hence the second visit). Frequently we complain about service and seldom do we commend; I wanted to take the time to commend and to let you know that my first experience with EMC Security was a pleasant one. I am happy to be a customer!
