The EMC Security received an alarm from the security system at the home of a Lawrenceville customer. It was in the middle of the afternoon at 3:16pm when the back door sensors were activated. The customer was at home alone. The monitoring center immediately contacted the customer who said she was at the home on the 2nd level and did not know why the alarm had been activated as the sirens were ringing.
The police were immediately dispatched as the monitoring center operator remained on the phone with the customer until the police arrived. Moments later, she advised that a burglar had indeed tried to break in her home and that downstairs back door was wide open. The sound of the alarm system had scared the intruder away and prevented him entering her home. Had the alarm not been activated, she would have never known that someone was trying to break into her home. This is a true testament as to why you should ALWAYS arm your system. This could have ended with a very bad outcome, had the customer not had a security system and come face to face with an intruder who did not realize there was anyone home. The burglar could have gravely harmed the customer as well as steal all of her valuable possessions. December 27, 2011- Suwanee, GA- EMC Security began a holiday tradition this year of collecting toys for the U.S. Marine’s Toys for Tots program of North Atlanta. Despite this year’s economic challenges, customers and employees of the locally owned security company collected over 200 unwrapped toys to donate to needy families this holiday season.
Some customers who made donations have said they found it easier to drop off at the EMC Security corporate office in Suwanee, Georgia than at busy local restaurants and retail stores. “We are so proud of the generosity of our customers and employees through these ongoing difficult economic times,” says Vince Raia, President of EMC Security. “The donations started off strong and continued throughout the entire collection dates. We want to give a special thanks to all our customers, especially those who drove from outside their normal areas to donate big bags of toys to these special children. The EMC Security monitoring center received an alarm from the basement door of a customer’s home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The operator immediately contacted the customer upon receiving the alarm. Unfortunately, the customer was out of town for the holidays, enjoying time with family when the thieves struck their home. The customer requested that the operator send the police to the home. When the police arrived at the home, they contacted the operator and confirmed signs of forced entry. It appeared that the alarm’s loud siren had scared off the thieves and prevented further loss of the family’s valuables.
In addition to arming your system when going out of town, please also remember some additional tips to prevent break-ins such as motion triggered outside lighting and timers for inside lights. Please remember to arm your system. For those who often forget to arm their system, please reme

EMC Security central monitoring station received a security system alarm from the home of a Lawrenceville customer. The alarm came from the basement door of the customer’s home at 10:43am. The monitoring center attempted to contac the customer and immediately dispatched the police. After attempts to contact the responding officer, we learned that nothing was missing from the customers home. Though there were signs of forced entry from the shattered door laying on the basement floor, the customer suffered no losses. The blaring siren had scared the burglars away. The alarm functioned properly and thwarted the burglars attempts at stealing the customers valuables. Please be sure to test your system regularly making sure the system, including the siren, is working properly. If you have ever wondered about the value having a medical alert system for an elderly loved one, please read this actual story. The EMC Security local monitoring center received an alarm from the home of an elderly customer in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She had tripped over her walker and was unable to get up. Her leg was bruised and cut, but she was not badly injured. She just needed assistance getting herself back up. The paramedics were sent to her home and her daughter was notified.
Luckily, this was not a life threatening event, but still a scary experience for this elderly customer. She was thankful to have the two way talking, direct voice-to-voice pendant available when she fell.
