The EMC Security monitoring center received an alarm signal from the home of a customer residing Gainesville. The alarm signal came from an entry door at 10:51am. The monitoring center operator immediately attempted to contact the customer. When unable to reach the customer, the operator dispatched the police to the home. A few minutes after dispatching police, the customer called to confirm that there was indeed a break-in at the home. The customer was relieved that nothing was taken and that he thinks the alarm scared the intruder away, preventing loss. Other than the broken door window, there was no other damage and nothing taken from the home. He also mentioned that he sometimes forgets to arm his system when leaving the home. He also mentioned that had he not turned his system on, he surely would have lost all of his valuable belongings, including his peace of mind.
The customer was so thankful to have had the EMC Security system and monitoring for his home. Even more importantly, he was glad that he armed the system before leaving the home. Please remember to use your alarm every time you leave your home. Burglars only need a few minutes to break into your home and steal your valuables. EMC Security’s exclusive Secure Path technology allows you to arm your system from your smart phone or computer in the event that you forget to arm your system before leaving your house. Secure Path technology allows you to access your system from any web-enabled device. Please contact an EMC Security representative at 770-963-0305 to learn more. Recently, EMC Security’s Medical Alert System Specialist, Ralph Collier, received a call from a customer who had installed the EMC Medical Alert System for his 89 year old mother who lived alone in Gainesville, GA. Because she recently needed to move to a nursing home facility, her son called to cancel the service. However, he made a special point to say that during the past 3 months, his mother activated the device on four occasions. Each time the system worked perfectly saving her life all four times. He stated that because of the EMC Medical Alert, his mother was able to remain in her home the additional time. This meant a lot to her and her family. The pendant gave his mother a sense of security and his entire family peace of mind. He is very thankful that she had the EMC Medical Alert system while she was still living at home and highly recommends it for anyone who has an elderly loved one that is disabled or lives alone.

Home intruders strike homes whether people at home or away. The EMC Security monitoring center received a panic alarm from the keyfob of the security system of a customer in Gainesville, Georgia. She stated that she though she could hear someone breaking into her home through one of the windows. The customer mentioned that she heard noise on the outside of her home for a few minutes, but did not think someone was trying to enter the home. Soon after she could hear the sounds of person inside the home. She immediately pushed the panic button that worked with her home security system, which scared the intruder away and out of her house. The EMC Security customer was not hurt and did not notice anything taken from th home. The customer was fortunate enough to have a key fob with a panic button to manually set off the system when she heard sounds of a break in and noises of someone in the home. The system activation scared off the potential intruder. Though we do not know what the intruders intentions were, we know that the security system potentially saved the customer’s life and valuables. The EMC Security monitoring center received a two-way medical alert alarm from the pendant worn by a customer who lives in Gainesville, Georgia. The customer is a 90-year old woman who lives alone. After falling and lying on her kitchen floor, she needed help. She immediately pressed the button on her two-way voice pendant that works with her EMC Security Medical Alert system. Speaking directly into the pendant that she was wearing, she was able to tell the monitoring center what happened. While on the line with one monitoring center operator, another operator was able to send emergency medical response teams to the customer’s home and contact her family members as well. Fortunately, the customer will be just fine. She has the EMC Security Medical Alert System that saved her from what could have been a terrible fate. The EMC Security Medical Alert System gives elderly loved ones the help they need when they need it, as well as giving the family members the peace of mind they deserve.

The EMC Security local monitoring center received an alarm from the front door of a customer’s home in Gainesville. After attempting to contact the customers, the monitoring center immediately dispatched the police to the home and notified an emergency contact person on the customer’s contact list. The customer called back and notified that the front door dead bolt had been tampered with and is no longer functional. Fortunately, even though the customer had an additional deadbolt for door security, it was no match for a burglar trying to break into the home. Only a security system will give the customer the additional security the home needs. The alarm functioned properly helping protect the home, scaring off the burglar, and sending police directly to the home to check the perimeter of the home.

Advances in security industry technology and the internet have opened up a world of new possibilities for consumers. The security industry seized upon t
he available technology to build value among their customers. The advent of the security system app quickly grew to include the control of thermostats, lights, and locks. Customers can now control the electronics in their home from anywhere they have an internet connection.
EMC Security Sales Manager, Michael Morton says, “the early adopters of this technology were ‘techies’, but now we’re seeing customers from all walks of life electing to add these services to their home.” Morton credits the low cost of the service and the convenience of remote system controls with the rapid growth in the “connected” services demand. EMC Security has developed our exclusive Secure Path Technology™ that allows these types of connected services.
Research shows that not only do consumers find the technology convenient but they’re also learning that the thermostat controls can significantly reduce power consumption. By allowing the security system to set the thermostat back four degrees automatically when the security system is armed, the average consumer can save $180 per year in “wasted power,” according to Energy Star.
EMC Security will be showcasing this new technology at the North Atlanta Home Show at the Gwinnett Center on February 10th, 11th and 12th. Please visit us at the show for live demonstrations of these services.

December 27, 2011- Suwanee, GA- EMC Security began a holiday tradition this year of collecting toys for the U.S. Marine’s Toys for Tots program of North Atlanta. Despite this year’s economic challenges, customers and employees of the locally owned security company collected over 200 unwrapped toys to donate to needy families this holiday season.

We want to give a special thanks to all our customers, especially those who drove from outside their normal areas to donate big bags of toys to these special children. We are so happy with the amount of donations made.” EMC Security customers came from all over the Metro Atlanta counties including Gwinnett, North Fulton, Dekalb, Forsyth, Barrow, and also Cobb County to donate these toys.
