The EMC Security local monitoring center received an alarm from the home security system of a customer in Duluth. The alarms began with motion detectors located in the foyer and kitchen area of the home. The monitoring center immediately contacted the customer and notified her of the alarms. The customer indicated that no one was home and requested police dispatched to her home. A few minutes later the customer called back to let the monitoring center know that her husband was at the home with responding police officers who found the screen taken off a window and the window open. Thankfully, there was nothing taken from the home as the security system worked properly and prevented loss. This Duluth customer had multiple motion detection devices as a part of her home security system. It is most beneficial to have motion detectors as they can help verify an conditions in the home. Having multiple motion devices, always installed on separate zones by EMC Security, can help verify an alarm condition in the home. December 27, 2011- Suwanee, GA- EMC Security began a holiday tradition this year of collecting toys for the U.S. Marine’s Toys for Tots program of North Atlanta. Despite this year’s economic challenges, customers and employees of the locally owned security company collected over 200 unwrapped toys to donate to needy families this holiday season.
Some customers who made donations have said they found it easier to drop off at the EMC Security corporate office in Suwanee, Georgia than at busy local restaurants and retail stores. “We are so proud of the generosity of our customers and employees through these ongoing difficult economic times,” says Vince Raia, President of EMC Security. “The donations started off strong and continued throughout the entire collection dates. We want to give a special thanks to all our customers, especially those who drove from outside their normal areas to donate big bags of toys to these special children. We are so happy with the amount of donations made.” EMC Security customers came from all over the Metro Atlanta counties including Gwinnett, North Fulton, Dekalb, Forsyth, Barrow, and also Cobb County to donate these toys. The EMC Security Monitoring Center received a alarm from the medical alert pendant worn by a customer in Duluth, Georgia. The customer stated that he had fallen while home alone and needed help getting up. The EMC Security Monitoring Center operator dispatched an alarm while another operator stayed on the line with him until emergency medical technicians arrived at the home. The customer was conscious but stated that his legs were so week he could not get up. The EMC Security operator remained on the line with him until he was being taken care of by the emergency medical technicians. Fortunately, this customer had the EMC Security Medical Alert pendant and was wearing it at the time of his fall and was able to call for help and notify the customer’s family members. This is a perfect example of the peace of mind and comfort that the EMC Security Medical Alert pendant gives families and their loved ones.
