The EMC Security monitoring center received a two-way voice pendant alarm from the home of a customer residing in Buford, Georgia. The customer was home alone in the kitchen preparing a late night meal. Suddenly, she became dizzy and fell to the floor. In pain and too weak to get up, the customer activated the medical alert alarm by pressing the button on her two way voice pendant at 10:57pm and was able to immediately speak directly through the pendant with a monitoring center operator. She explained that she had fallen in the kitchen was able to get herself up off the floor. The operator immediately dispatched an ambulance to the home and continued on the line speaking with the customer. At 11:01pm, a 2nd operator called the customers neighbor as indicated on the customer’s call list. Immediately, the neighbor arrived at the customer’s home to help her. The monitoring center operator remained on the line with the customer through the pendant until the ambulance arrived at her home. Within mere minutes at 11:08pm, the ambulance arrived at the customer’s home to give her the emergency medical services that she needed. The customer was so fortunate to have the EMC Medical Alert Pendant.
No one likes to think about the need for medical alert devices. However, had this customer not had the EMC Medical Alert Pendant, she could have lay on the floor helpless and alone for a terribly long period of time without receiving the life saving help she needed as minutes could have turned into hours. Should you or someone you love has such special needs, please contact Ralph Collier, Medical Alert Product Manager at EMC Security to learn more about the EMC Medical Alert system and two-way voice pendant.

Advances in security industry technology and the internet have opened up a world of new possibilities for consumers. The security industry seized upon the available technology to build value among their customers. The advent of the security system app quickly grew to include the control of thermostats, lights, and locks. Customers can now control the electronics in their home from anywhere they have an internet connection.
EMC Security Sales Manager, Michael Morton says, “the early adopters of this technology were ‘techies’, but now we’re seeing customers from all walks of life electing to add these services to their home.” Morton credits the low cost of the service and the convenience of remote system controls with the rapid growth in the “connected” services demand. EMC Security has developed our exclusive Secure Path Technology™ that allows these types of connected services.
Research shows that not only do consumers find the technology convenient but they’re also learning that the thermostat controls can significantly reduce power consumption. By allowing the security system to set the thermostat back four degrees automatically when the security system is armed, the average consumer can save $180 per year in “wasted power,” according to Energy Star.
EMC Security will be showcasing this new technology at the North Atlanta Home Show at the Gwinnett Center on February 10th, 11th and 12th. Please visit us at the show for live demonstrations of these services.
