The EMC Security monitoring center received a back door and hallway motion detector alarm from the home of a customer in Athens, Georgia. The monitoring center immediately responded to the alarm by calling the home to check the status. During that call a male voice answered the phone, listened for a moment, and hung up after being asked the password. A few seconds after hanging up, the front door sensor had detected activity. It appears that the intruder had broken into the home and answered the call to check and see if the home security system was indeed being monitored. When the intruder realized that the alarm system was indeed being monitored, the intruder fled the home through the front door. With the help of the customers monitored security system, nothing was taken from the home and no one was home at the time. This is a great example of why alarm monitoring centers require passwords when calling to ensure that it is someone who is supposed to be at the home at the time of the alarm.

The EMC Security monitoring center received a medical alert two-way pendant alarm from the home of an elderly customer living in Elberton, Georgia. The customer had fallen while at home and could not get back up on her own. Distressed and home alone, she pressed the button on her two-way pendant she was wearing and was able to speak directly to a monitoring center operator though the pendant. She told the operator that she did not think she needed an ambulance, but needed some assistance in getting back on her feet. The operator was able to contact the customer’s daughter and remained on the phone with her until the help she needed had arrived. When asked about the incident the customer’s daughter said, “I talked to my mom, and she said everything went smoothly. She said the operator talked to her until help arrived, that my brother was called promptly, and that she was pleased with the way it worked. Thank you so much.” Without the medical alert pendant, no one knows how long the customer may have lay on the floor or what could have happened to her. Please be sure to contact EMC Security about our medical alert pendant for your elderly or disabled loved ones. With this kind of personal emergency response system, your loved ones are never alone or without help.

December 27, 2011- Suwanee, GA- EMC Security began a holiday tradition this year of collecting toys for the U.S. Marine’s Toys for Tots program of North Atlanta. Despite this year’s economic challenges, customers and employees of the locally owned security company collected over 200 unwrapped toys to donate to needy families this holiday season.
Some customers who made donations have said they found it easier to drop off at the EMC Security corporate office in Suwanee, Georgia than at busy local restaurants and retail stores. “We are so proud of the generosity of our customers and employees through these ongoing difficult economic times,” says Vince Raia, President of EMC Security. “The donations started off strong and continued throughout the entire collection dates. We want to give a special thanks to all our customers, especially those who drove from outside their normal areas to donate big bags of toys to these special children. We are so happy with the amount of donations made.” EMC Security customers came from all over the Metro Atlanta counties including Gwinnett, North Fulton, Dekalb, Forsyth, Barrow, and also Cobb County to donate these toys. This was EMC Security’s first ever Toy Drive and will be an annual event for years to come.

That’s why you should trust the Monitoring Response Center at EMC Security with your family’s safety. The experts in this state-of-the-art, around-the-clock, Underwriters Laboratory-approved facility are busy every day saving lives and property.
Besides two totally redundant monitoring locations to make sure you’re never out of touch, EMC Security also offers exclusive Secure PathTM technology that allows multiple communication avenues between you and the Response Center.
This year has been busy for response center pros. They’ve answered twice as many alarms in the first six months of 2011 as they handled in all of 2010. Read their real-life stories and then call EMC Security at 770-963-0305 for no-contract monitoring at only $16.95 a month.
Small Business Burglary Thwarted
Athens, Aug. 8 – The response center receives an alarm at 12:57 a.m. from a monitored business. Burglars smash the front window and a glass showcase, but the alarm worked and nothing is taken. The perpetrators actually left something — a trail of blood from the storefront to the parking lot outside. The business owner is happy with the way his security system works.
Paramedics Arrive Quickly to Medical Alert
Athens, Aug. 1 – The response center receives a medical alert alarm for a customer at 7:48 a.m. The operator immediately calls the home and speaks to the customer, who is having shoulder and chest pains. While staying on the phone and reassuring the customer, the operator dispatches paramedics who arrive shortly.
Smoke Detection Prevents House Fire
Snellville, June 18 – The response center receives a smoke/heat detector alarm at 11:23 a.m. The operator immediately contacts the homeowner, who is away, and dispatches the fire department. A pot left cooking on the stove is the culprit. If not for EMC Security’s rapid response, the home could have caught fire. The customer is very happy with the way the alarm is handled.
