The EMC Security received an alarm from the security system at the home of a Lawrenceville customer. It was in the middle of the afternoon at 3:16pm when the back door sensors were activated. The customer was at home alone. The monitoring center immediately contacted the customer who said she was at the home on the 2nd level and did not know why the alarm had been activated as the sirens were ringing.
The police were immediately dispatched as the monitoring center operator remained on the phone with the customer until the police arrived. Moments later, she advised that a burglar had indeed tried to break in her home and that downstairs back door was wide open. The sound of the alarm system had scared the intruder away and prevented him entering her home. Had the alarm not been activated, she would have never known that someone was trying to break into her home. This is a true testament as to why you should ALWAYS arm your system. This could have ended with a very bad outcome, had the customer not had a security system and come face to face with an intruder who did not realize there was anyone home. The burglar could have gravely harmed the customer as well as steal all of her valuable possessions. Please continue to read the other blogs and learn why it is important to have a security system for you home or business.

If a customer’s home or business ever suffers a loss of power, EMC Security receives power loss signals, and notifies customers as an service at no additional cost to the customer. In this day and age, we are seldom surprised that thieves will steal anything not locked down, even a power box. Recently, the EMC Security monitoring center received a power loss signal from the business of a customer protected in Commerce, Georgia. We notified the customer who traveled out to the business and discovered the theft of the power box from his business. The monitoring center contacted police for him and he reported the incident. It would appear that the thieves may have been setting up the customer to be robbed later that day when the system batteries died. This is another great way that EMC Security continues to protect homes and businesses across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia!

The EMC Security local monitoring center received an alarm from the front door of a customer’s home in Gainesville. After attempting to contact the customers, the monitoring center immediately dispatched the police to the home and notified an emergency contact person on the customer’s contact list. The customer called back and notified that the front door dead bolt had been tampered with and is no longer functional. Fortunately, even though the customer had an additional deadbolt for door security, it was no match for a burglar trying to break into the home. Only a security system will give the customer the additional security the home needs. The alarm functioned properly helping protect the home, scaring off the burglar, and sending police directly to the home to check the perimeter of the home.

The EMC Security local monitoring center received an alarm from the home security system of a customer in Duluth. The alarms began with motion detectors located in the foyer and kitchen area of the home. The monitoring center immediately contacted the customer and notified her of the alarms. The customer indicated that no one was home and requested police dispatched to her home. A few minutes later the customer called back to let the monitoring center know that her husband was at the home with responding police officers who found the screen taken off a window and the window open. Thankfully, there was nothing taken from the home as the security system worked properly and prevented loss. This Duluth customer had multiple motion detection devices as a part of her home security system. It is most beneficial to have motion detectors as they can help verify an conditions in the home. Having multiple motion devices, always installed on separate zones by EMC Security, can help verify an alarm condition in the home. Please always consider having enough motion detectors to your home as they add to the level of protection your security system helps provide to your home and family.

The EMC Security recently received a call from a customer in Loganville, Georgia who asked not to be identified. The customer called to tell us that she believes her EMC Security system had saved her life. She was at home and her security system was armed. She had suffered a medical emergency as she was home alone and not able to move well. Fortunately, she quickly thought to intentionally activate her home alarm to get help. Her dogs began barking and her reaction was to rip the alarm control off the wall. Both actions immediately sent an alarm signal to our local central station who then dispatched emergency response teams.
First responders had to use forceful entry into her home to get her the medical attention she needed. The customer was rushed to the hospital and nearly died. Fortunately, after a few surgeries and a stay in the hospital, she will be back at home resting. Shortly before one of those surgeries, the customer called our representative at EMC Security to express her gratitude and to tell us that she would not be alive today, if she did not have our system. EMC Security would like to express our extreme gratitude to her and to say how thankful we are that she is alive. We wish her a speedy recovery as she is in our thoughts and prayers.
