The EMC Security monitoring center received an alarm from a two-way medical alert pendant at 4:19pm on August 2nd from the home of a customer in Colbert, Georgia. The customer’s daughter pressed the button on the two-way voice medical alert pendant and told the monitoring center operator that her mother needed to go to the hospital. She told the operator that her mother was experiencing intense pain in her stomach, side, and back. She also indicated that her mother had been sick for the past few weeks. The operator immediately dispatched an ambulance to the home while staying on the line with the customer’s daughter to get more information. She stayed with her mother until the ambulance arrived and disconnected with the monitoring center.
Fortunately, this customer had the two-way medical alert pendant was was able to quickly contact the monitoring center for help by pressing the button on the pendant and communicating directly through the pendant. The monitoring center was able to dispatch paramedics and notify them of the customer’s pain and symptoms.
