The EMC Security monitoring center received an alarm from the medical alarm pendant of a customer in Monroe, Georgia. The customer was home alone and needed help getting up after suffering a fall. Using the two-way voice communication capability on the pendant, the customer was able to contact the monitoring center and let them know that he needed help getting up and that he was in pain from the fall. The operator stayed on the line speaking with the customer while a 2nd operator dispatched emergency medical technicians to the customer’s home. The operator also notified the customer’s wife who met authorities at the home. Both operators stayed on the line with the customer until the EMTs arrived. Thankfully, this customer has the EMC Medical Alert system and two way voice pendant in the home.
