How is the EMC Medical Alert Pendant different from other personal emergency alert and response systems?
The EMC Medical Alert System includes a pendant that allows two-way voice communication. The person wearing the EMC Medical Alert pendant can speak directly into the pendant with our an operator at EMC Security's local monitoring center located in Suwanee, Georgia to explain their emergency or needs. If using a competitor medical alert system, the person must be in close distance to the stationary base unit to be able to clearly communicate with an operator; if the person was not in the same room as the base unit, they would have to scream hoping that they are loud enough for someone to hear them.
Who monitors the medical alert alarm signals?
EMC Security's local monitoring station located in Suwanee, Georgia monitors all emergency medical alarms. EMC Security's local monitoring service is UL Listed with a CSAA 5 Diamond Certified monitoring center staff.
Will the EMC Medical Alert Pendant work in my yard?
The EMC Medical Alert Pendant is powerful enough to cover up to a 5,000-square-foot home and still have enough range to go another 100 feet out into the yard. While installing the system, the EMC Medical Alert Specialist can test different locations around the home for signal strength.
Who installs the EMC Medical Alert System?
Unlike other medical alert systems sold by competitors who simply mail systems to your home, an EMC Medical Alert Specialist will come to your home and give you fully personalized service experience. The specialist will install and program all of the products, test them. He will also demonstrate the system for you to make sure you know just what to do in the event of an emergency.
Does it use a battery?
The EMC Security Medical Alert pendant uses a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. We give you two batteries to use — one goes in the pendant; the other you can keep charging in the base station. The battery standby time is about three to four months.
How many pendants can you use in a single household?
If more than one person needs to use a medical alert pendant in your home, we can program up to four pendants to work for a single base unit.
Can I wear the EMC Medical Alert Pendant in the shower?
Yes. The pendant meets all industry standards for water-resistance.
Where can I wear the EMC Medical Alert Pendant?
The medical alert pendant can be worn around your neck, as a wrist band, or clipped to the waistline or side pocket of your pants.
